SEAN DELOUCHE, PH.D.

Chair, Early Modern Studies

Dr. Sean DeLouche earned his B.A. degree in History and Art History at the University of California, Davis and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Nineteenth-Century Art History at The Ohio State University. He has held positions in several museums and has held many teaching appointments, most recently at Baylor University. Sean’s research has garnered awards including the prestigious Samuel H. Kress History Travel Fellowship and the Presidential Fellowship. His research interests include Romanticism, portraiture, print culture, reception theory, and theories of identity. He is currently at work on a book on the reproducible portraits of Louis-Philippe, the last King of France.

MEAGAN GREEN LABUNSKI, PH.D.
Director of Art History

Dr. Meagan Green Labunski received her undergraduate degree in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her Ph.D. at Duke University. She has taught students at Duke, Texas A&M University, and Baylor University. Her research has been supported by a number of distinguished fellowships and institutions, including the U.S. Fulbright Commission, The Getty Research Institute, and the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. Current projects include studies of Baroque patronage in Rome and the contributions of female painters in post-war America.

MATTHEW WOODWORTH, PH.D.
Director of Architectural History

After receiving his undergraduate degree in Art History at Brown University, Dr. Matt Woodworth completed his Master’s degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art (London) and then his Ph.D. at Duke University. Matt has taught students at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) and also at Duke. His research has been supported by numerous prestigious foundations, including the Society of Architectural Historians, the Kress Foundation, and the Paul Mellon Centre for British Art. Current projects include depictions of kingship in medieval Europe and Hardian’s conceptualization of architectural space at his villa in Tivoli.
